Cory Waggoner, CEO & Founder of Higher Yields Consulting
Cory Waggoner founded Higher Yields Cannabis Consulting in 2015 with the goal of bringing structure, stability, and quality assurance to the budding cannabis industry.
Built on his four pillars of healthy cannabis businesses – Strong Startup, System Design & Implementation, Brand Development & Deployment, Growth & Scaling – Waggoner designed Higher Yields Consulting to solve the most complex and problematic issues in the cannabis industry.
Today, Waggoner leads the team of expert consultants at Higher Yields Consulting while also serving clients directly in his unique areas of expertise, including international regulations, domestic legislation development, and strategy and innovation for operators in states with varying application processes, regulations, and markets.
Waggoner’s most notable contributions to the cannabis industry include:
- Developing regulations and standards for the federal government of Mexico to provide structure and legitimacy to their national cannabis industry.
- Developing and elevating the cannabis market in South America and the Caribbean.
- Developing cultivation sites and manufacturing sites in Africa.
- Partnering with Malta to develop supply chains and international deals to the EU, including special projects in Portugal.
Background & Experience
In 2008, Cory Waggoner entered the cannabis industry as an operator helping develop commercial cultivation sites in Northern California. Seeing the vast potential and sophisticated market emerging in Colorado, Waggoner moved to the Centennial State to partner with several retail facilities, cultivators, and manufacturing labs in 2010.
Recognizing the need for experience-based regulations and professional services to support cannabis operations, Waggoner worked with distressed retail stores and cultivation sites from 2013 to 2015 to implement sustainable processes and quality-predictable procedures. Throughout his time rescuing cannabis businesses under strain, Waggoner developed dynamic SOPs and strategies that dramatically increased profit margins in an ever-changing industry.
His experience fixing and – when owners desired to – flipping cannabis businesses inspired Waggoner to make his services available to cannabis businesses around the country by founding Higher Yields Cannabis Consulting.
